3.Comparing a specific element between different scenarios

3.1 Modern specified SST versus Modern predicted SST

2.1.1 Sea surface temperature

Modern specified SSTModern predicted SST
"Specified SST" means no temporal change. However, "specified SST" change based on time of year, e.g. seasonal change. Specified sea surface temperature is higher than predicted SST. You can confirm effects of this difference in water content, evaporation, precipitation, and snow cover.

3.1.2 Ocean ice cover

Modern specified SSTModern predicted SST
Ocean ice cover is constant in the "specified SST". "Modern specified SST," means not only sea surface temperature but also ocean ice cover is specified.

3.1.3 other elements

Other elements show seasonal and inter-annual variability but almost constant. That is because we keep climate forcing factors such as solar radiation incident on planet and concentrations of greenhouse gases. We call these experiments as control runs and compare with other experiment run in that we change the climate forcing factors.

3.2 Double Carbon Dioxide and Global Warming
